Aristotle’s philosophy on two human beings in love reminds me of Rik Garrett’s current series ‘Symbiosis’. The fate of two physical bodies that connect and form as one soul, which is similarly portrayed throughout Garrett’s mixed media photography. The Chicago based artist explores ideas regarding love, relationships, magic, alchemy and mutually beneficial partnerships in nature.

my birthday is coming up and I have no idea what I want to do this year. I know I want elijah to be there and I want tamara to be there, too. I feel like I have had so much time to think it over, but it really doesn’t matter what I do. I want to go to the beach, but I also want to go to hollywood horror nights. maybe I’ll do that with elijah. he keeps asking me what I want to do and I keep telling him that I’m not sure. this is one of the first years I am actually okay with growing up, but now it just seems like not much else matters but that. I’ve been pretty down about halloween this year, too. I really want to do all of my favorite october things but I also want to save all the money I can. then there’s christmas. I am probably being counterproductive and stressing myself out right now. I’m over it all to be honest and it’s not fun but I just want to go back to celebrating all of these things without a worry in the world and I feel like I need to grow up and move forward and make changes in order to even do that. I sound so boring.
